December 2021
December 2021

❄Do you LOVE the cold/snow or are you someone who craves the heat year around?
This month is all about the Winter Fun & DIYs. From activities to do with the kiddos, to fun holiday gift ideas we have got you covered! We even have winter-themed diffuser blends and roller bottle recipes that will have you “Walkin’ in a winter wonderland."
I am kicking the month off with 4 DIY recipes.
1. Potpourri
I remember my grandma always having some around the house growing up. I can guarantee hers was NOT made with the world’s highest grade essential oils though.
Recommended ingredients: Orange Peels, Star Anise, Bay Leaves, Cinnamon Sticks, Vanilla Beans, Cardamom seeds, Dried Apple Slices, Whole Cloves, Whole Nutmeg, All Spice
Recommended essential oils: Cinnamon Bark, Cassia, OnGuard, Vetiver, Wild Orange, Clove, Ginger, Cardamom
Place desired herbs and spices in a bowl. Mix and assemble as desired. Add 3-5 drops of essential oil on top. Repeat oil application as the scent fades over time.Gift Idea: Place herbs and spices in a decorative box or bag and include a bottle of essential oil.
Where would you place this in your house?

2. Scented Cards
Sending out holiday cards this season? I have a hot tip for you to make yours stand out among all the rest. All you need are some cotton balls, a plastic or paper bag, and your favorite essential oil (I like to use Holiday Joy).
Put 2-4 drops of essential oil on the cotton ball (Douglas Fir, Frankincense, Wild Orange, Cinnamon Bark, or Holiday Peace are all good options as well!) Place the cotton ball inside the bag with the cards, seal the bag and let sit overnight.
Boom! Your cards will smell great and will bring a smile to the recipient's face no doubt!

3. Gingerbread Cookies
As the temperatures drop, baking tends to ramp up in our household! What is a better winter crowd-pleaser than Gingerbread cookies?!
Below is a recipe for gluten-free, sugar-free, vegan cookies that make a perfect option for anyone with dietary restrictions. You can feel confident offering them to friends, family, or coworkers or you can treat yourself without the guilt!

4. Candy Cane Sugar Scrub
If you are anything like me, you are all about spreading cheer with a little DIY! This candy cane scrub only requires a few ingredients and will make great gifts or a perfect item to have on hand for a little self-care treat!
What you need:
✔️ ¾ cup white cane sugar
✔️ ½ cup Fractionated Coconut Oil
✔️ 12 drops Peppermint Oil
✔️ Skin safe food coloring
Combine sugar and fractionated coconut oil in a bowl and divide the mixture equally into 2 bowls. In one of the bowls add the skin-safe food coloring. Layer red and white to create the candy cane effect.
