Winter Fun - Part 2

December 2021

Continuing on with our Winter Fun series - Here are four more DIY ideas to make this month...

1. Spiced Cider

Did you know that adding essential oils to your beverages is a quick and easy way to spice up your life (literally)?

I absolutely love this season because I am an apple cider addict. To your cider feel free to add one of the following suggestions:

💧 3 drops Wild Orange

💧 2 drops Cinnamon Bark

💧 2 drops Cassia

💧 2 drops Ginger

I prefer to add a drop of each to my cider while I warm it on the stove. Enjoy!

2. Scented Pinecones

This one is so simple! All you need are dry pinecones (bonus points if you collect them yourself!) and your favorite essential oil.

If you do happen to grab your own pinecones from outside, be sure to cook them in the oven at 200℉ for at least 30 minutes or until the pinecones have opened. Put one drop of essential oil on each pine cone.

Some suggestions include Cassia, Clove, Holiday Joy, Holiday Peace, Wild Orange, Siberian Fir, or Wintergreen. Place pinecones in a decorative bowl and voila you have a natural room freshener!

3. Snacking Chocolates

Snacking chocolates infused with dōTERRA essential oils make a quick and easy item to bring to any event, give as a gift or even keep for yourself!

What you need: 1 cup dark chocolate chips, 1 tsp coconut oil, ½ cup almonds, Peppermint and/or Wild Orange essential oil.

Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in a double boiler or you can put a glass bowl on top of a gentle boiling pot of water and melt until smooth. Add in essential oil of choice (note: 1-2 drops is perfect for a subtle taste, add more as needed!)

Pour melted chocolate onto wax paper on a cookie sheet and spread the chocolate around with a spoon. Crush almonds (or candy canes!) and sprinkle over the chocolate layer. Place in the refrigerator and allow to chill. Once solidified, break into pieces and enjoy!

4. Bath Salt Ornaments

What you will need: round plastic ornaments, 1 cup Epsom Salts, your favorite essential oil.

Mix Epsom Salt in a bowl and add skin-safe colorant if you want! Add dried herbs or flower petals and then 5-10 drops of your favorite essential oil of choice. Mix well and add the mixture to the ornament until full and replace the top. When ready to use, simply add to a warm bath!
