Winter Fun - Part 3
December 2021
December 2021
Here are four more fun winter DIY ideas for you to try out this week!
1. Deck the Halls Room Spray
To a 4 oz glass spray bottle, add:
💧 10 drops Frankincense
💧 10 drops Cedarwood
💧 15 drops Peppermint
2 oz Witch Hazel
Top with Distilled Water. Shake and Spray!

2. Peppermint Fudge
You have probably had Peppermint Brownies by now, but what about Peppermint fudge?
5 oz can of evaporated milk
12 tablespoons of butter
3 cups granulated sugar
12 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate
7 oz jar of marshmallow creme
10 drops of Peppermint Oil
Line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper. Place the evaporated milk, butter, and sugar into a heavy-bottom saucepan over medium heat. Stir continually and bring to a rolling boil. Continue to stir until a candy thermometer reads 234℉ (around 4 minutes). Remove the pan from heat and stir in chocolate and marshmallow creme. Add Peppermint oil and stir. Pour fudge into the prepared pan and let cool. Use a knife to cut into 1-inch squares (or use small cookie cutters!)

3. Apple Streusel
Ingredients:
½ cup oats
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup brown sugar
6 tablespoons butter (cold, not room temp)
1 drop Cinnamon Bark
1 drop Ginger
1 drop OnGuard
½ cup dried fruit (dates, raisins, cranberries, cherries)
4 large baking apples
Heat oven to 350℉ and spray a pie pan or other oven-safe dish with nonstick spray. Combine oats, flour, and brown sugar in a bowl. Use a fork to cut in the butter until it is a crumbly mixture. Add essential oils and dried fruit and blend well, then refrigerate as you prepare the apples. Slice off a small portion of each apple so they can sit in the bottom of the baking dish. Core the apple without cutting all the way to the bottom. Spoon streusel mixture into each apple packing it down and allowing it to overflow. Bake at 350℉ for 40 minutes.

4. Non-Toxic Candles
What you will need:
4 cups beeswax pellets
1 cup of coconut oil
cotton wicks
4 oz mason jars
your favorite essential oils
Melt the beeswax and coconut oil in the microwave. While still a liquid, add your essential oils (I suggest 20 drops Holiday Joy, 20 drops Holiday Peace or 20 drops Northern Escape). Add a drop of wax to the center of the mason jar and position the wick. Carefully pour the wax mixture into the mason jars and allow the candles to set and cool. Cut the wick to about ½ inch about the wax. This will make 4 candles.
